What is a doula?
A doula is typically defined as:
A trained professional who is not a healthcare provider and who supports another individual through a significant health-related experience, such as childbirth, miscarriage, induced abortion or stillbirth, or non-reproductive experiences such as dying.
A doula should never advocate for you, instead, we teach our families how to advocate for themselves, affirm their beliefs and desires, as well as help navigate your care in a way that aligns with their goals and desires.
